How long does it last?

The effects can last up to a year in the feet. In order to minimize swelling we will under treat the area, follow-up injections can be performed as desired, although we will wait 2-4 weeks before we treat again. As we do not inject permanent material, maintenance therapy will be required.

Is it painful?

The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic and so there is no pain during the treatment itself. Some swelling is common for a few days after the procedure. You will need to gently massage and ice the area for 5 days after the procedure, this will help distribute the Pillows for feet® more evenly over the required areas. To minimize the swelling we will always under treat the area, but we can enhance the results with further injections if required at your follow-up visit.

Will I be able to feel an improvement immediately?

No, after treatment you should notice gradual results over the next few weeks. At your follow up appointment we expect you will have achieved an optimum result at this point, we can do a follow-up injection if more padding is required.

Are there any side effects of treatment?

The most common side effects are injection related side effects at the site of injection, such as bleeding, tenderness or pain, redness, bruising or swelling, these effects generally last only a few days. We will always under treat the area to minimize the swelling you experience.
